Over the next five years we will be constructing 36 new houses around Melbourne, with 56 tenancies expected to begin in 2027. This will be a major step in reducing the number of young people experiencing homelessness in Victoria.
We are committed to ensuring that our work brings benefits not only to the young person, but also to the community, and creates a space for meaningful and productive connections. Currently, we are collaborating with local communities and young people who have experienced homelessness to ensure these homes meet their needs and those of the community and environment.
MCM Housing has applied for funding through the Victorian Government’s Big Housing Build program to build a small, specialised social housing developments for young people in various locations across Victoria. Throughout the design process, we have sought feedback with the local communities and young people who have experienced homelessness to ensure that these homes match the needs of the residents, the community, and the environment.
