There is a significant gap in the supply of housing to meet the demand of young people experiencing homelessness. Our mission is to bridge this gap and create a more equitable housing system.
If you are not between 18-24 years old, you can contact Housing Victoria for assistance.
MCM Housing has opted into the Victoria Housing Register (VHR), which means that the majority of our housing must be allocated to people who have applied for housing through the VHR. The VHR has its own set of eligibility criteria, which you can find on their website.
If you're applying for housing with us, we'll assume that you meet the VHR criteria. However, if you're unable to provide proof of your VHR application, don't worry! We'll simply ask for the same information to determine your eligibility, as if you were to apply.
When completing your VHR application, please remember to tick one of these options:
By doing so, you'll allow us at MCM Housing to access your VHR application. Please note that we can’t contact you if your details aren’t up to date, so make sure you get in touch with VHR if anything changes.
We understand that applying for housing can be overwhelming, but we're here to assist you. Our team can guide you through the application process for the VHR, ensuring that you remain eligible for an MCMH tenancy.
There are some other housing programmes, aside from VHR, that we either run ourselves or team up with. If you're in one of those programs, you might be eligible for our housing.
Each program has its own set of eligibility criteria that we need to follow. So, if you're applying for housing through one of those programs, we might ask you for some specific details to show that you meet their criteria.
When it comes to your housing history, we want to make sure everyone feels safe and respected. So, if you've had a tenancy terminated in the past because of antisocial or dangerous behaviour, your application might be unsuccessful. However, we understand that everyone's situation is unique, so we'll take a closer look at each case individually.
If we can put some support systems in place to help prevent any issues from happening again, we're open to giving you a chance.
We believe in giving people the opportunity to grow and change, so don't hesitate to reach out if this situation applies to you. We're here to work together and find solutions that benefit everyone.
If you have any questions or would like more information, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We're here to support you throughout the tenancy process.
